Epidemiological profile of accidents with exposure to biological materials that occurred in workers in the State of Amapá, Amazon, Brazil, from 2015 to 2019

Accidental exposures with sharp instruments are the most common occupational accidents involving professionals and students in a hospital environment. Accident biological material (MB) results from direct contact between blood genital or serous organic fluids, unhealthy skin, mucous membranes by percutaneous inoculation through objects. The objective of this study was to characterize epidemiological profile exposure materials that occurred workers state Amapá, Amazon, Brazil, period 2015 2019, analyzing number, type occurrences, occupation circumstance accident. A retrospective, descriptive, cross-sectional carried out quantitative approach.
